BEMIDJI, Minn. - Tonight at the John Glas Fieldhouse, the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team was defeated by the University of North Dakota, 2-1. BSU battled back to tie the game at 1-1 late in the second, but the Sioux scored early in the third to put the nail in the Beaver’s coffin and beat Bemidji State for the first time in the series history.
The Sioux dominated play from the drop of the puck. In the first period North Dakota out-shot the Beavers 9-3 including the Sioux’s first goal. At 12:24 of the first period, Sherrie White scored her 10th goal of the season as she beat Anik Coté to give UND a 1-0 first period lead.
The Beavers ended the first period playing with a little more aggression and came out in the second the same way. With a 9-6 shot advantage in the stanza, the Beavers scored a power-play goal when junior Caesare Stimson redirected the shot from Amber Fryklund just passed the UND goaltender, Amber Hasbargen, to knot the game at 1-1.

Though the Beavers had some opportunities, they we not able to find the open players in crucial situations and failed to climb their way back into the game.

The Beavers will continue there current homestand when they face conference foe St. Cloud State (6-15-0/3-12-0 WCHA) Jan. 24th and 25th. Both games will be played in the John Glass Fieldhouse and are set to start at 2:05 p.m.
