score] The Bemidji State University volleyball team fell
to the University of Nebraska-Omaha, 1-3 (28-30, 19-30, 25-30)
in the opening match of the 2005 North Central Regional Crossover
at Hachs Arena in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Beavers hitting woes continued as they collected just
29 kills while hitting .134.
BSU played its best volleyball in game one. The team posted
14 kills while hitting at a .312 clip and pushing the Mavericks
to 30-28 before conceding the game. Games two and three went
the way of the UNO offensive attack 30-19, 30-25. Nebraska-Omaha
piled up 34 kills in the final two games while hitting over
.200.
Brittney Burns (Henderson, Minn.) and
Brittney
Carlson (New Prague, Minn.) paced the BSU hitting
corps recording six kills each while
Christa Anderson
(Siren, Wis.) collected five kills and hit a team-high .200.
M’Keele Tomberlin (Cohasset, Minn.)
posted her second career double with 24 assists and 10 digs
while
Alicia Beaman (St. Paul Park, Minn.)
led the way defensively collecting a match-high 14 digs.
Christina Reicks paced the Mavericks with 14 kills and hit
.257. Briana Ritter led all blockers with seven (1bs-6ba)
and Chelsea Miller collected 12 digs.
BSU (0-9, 0-0 NSIC)) will take the court in search of its
first victory of 2005 at 4 p.m. when they battle University
of South Dakota (3-5).
