one goal as Golden Bear goaltender Hannah Turgerson was able
to keep the Beavers in check.
The teams played the first 15:00 minutes even, but a pair
of Golden Bear goals at 15:07 and 35:53 of the first period
would send the Beavers to the locker room down 2-0 at the
half.
Sam Voeller struck first sliding a goal past the BSU goalkeeper,
Kari Torgerson (Sr., New Hope, Minn.) in the 15th minute of
play on a pass from Kyla Rentch. Hillary Johnson would give
the Golden Bears a two-goal cushion in the 35th minute when
Nikki Hertel and Rachel Vitense combined to feed Johnson for
the goal.
In the second half the Beavers would out shoot the Golden
Bears 10-to-3 but didn’t get on the board until the
84th minute of play when Lauren Olivares (So., El Paso, Texas)
and Christina Hicks (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) found Jamie Ford
(Fr., Edina, Minn.) streaking for the Beavers first goal of
the game and her fourth of the season.
Torgerson played 87 minutes in net for BSU making four saves
in the 2-1 loss.
The CSP goalkeeper, Hannah Turgerson was forced to make seven
saves while allowing Ford’s tally.
