DULUTH, Minn. - After winning three of the last
four games, the Bemidji State soccer team couldn’t find the net
in a 3-0 loss to the University of Minnesota-Duluth Monday night at the
Griggs Field at Malosky Stadium.
Ashlee Ellefsen (Fr., Hugo, Minn.) and Lauren Olivares (Jr., El Paso, Texas) attempted BSU’s two lone shots in the game, and both were saved by UMD goalkeeper Katie Lukanich.
Brittany
Lyons got Minnesota Duluth started early with a goal in the 19th
minute, and the Bulldogs (1-2-0) entered halftime with a 1-0 lead. That
proved to be all they would need to come away victorious, and Heather
Cutter and Clare Dahmen added second-half goals to push the lead to 3-0.
Jessica Meath (Jr., Bethel, Minn.) allowed the three goals and had four saves while playing the entire game in net for the Beavers.
BSU (3-3-1) was outshot in the contest 15-2, and did not attempt a shot in the second half.
Despite
the loss, Bemidji State is still riding a two-game win streak at home.
The Beavers will look to make it three on Saturday when the University
of Minnesota-Crookston comes to the BSU Soccer Field for a 1 p.m.
matchup.
