Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn.- The Bemidji State University volleyball team
fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-17) to Minnesota State University Moorhead
Friday night at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn. The Beavers
fall to 6-18 (3-13 NSIC) on the season. The Dragons improve to 12-12
(10-7 NSIC).
Bethany Thompson (Jr., OH, Owatonna, Minn.) led BSU with eight
kills as the Beavers struggled overall from the field hitting only .016
for the night with 25 kills and 23 errors on 127 attempts.
Kelsi Crawford (Fr., OH/DS, Wadena, Minn.) added seven kills and hit .038 for the match.
Courtney Volkmann (Fr., S, Wadena, Minn.) finished with a season-high 21 assists.
Defensively,
Leigh Peterson (Jr., DS, Deer River, Minn.) and
Jessi-Beth McCannell (Sr., S, Brandon, Manitoba) each tallied double-figure digs. Peterson notched 11 digs while McCannell had 10.
MSU Moorhead was led by Annie Palmquist’s 12 kills and astonishing .706
hitting percentage with no errors on 17 attempts. Meredith Egeland and
Morgan Gradishar each added eight kills for the Dragons. MSU Moorhead
finished the match hitting .270. Setter Anna Olson helped pace the
Dragons with 35 assists.
Defensively, Katy Ness paced MSU Moorhead with 24 digs. Angie Waller added 14 for the match.
The Beavers have now lost their last 16 matches to MSU Moorhead dating
back to Oct. 4, 2003, the last time they defeated a Dragon squad. BSU
will look to get back on track as they head to University of Minnesota,
Crookston for their final road match of the season. The Beavers picked
up a victory of the Golden Eagles earlier this season at BSU Gymnasium.
