Beavers settle for 1-1 tie at Southwest Minnesota State

MARSHALL, Minn. -- Miranda Famestad (F, Fr., Andover, Minn.) scored her third goal of the season to lead the Bemidji State University soccer team to a 1-1 draw at Southwest Minnesota State Saturday.

Famestad's goal broke a scoreless tie during the 51st minute, but Miranda Cadena posted her team-leading 10th goal to knot the score at 1-1 in the 81st  minute.

The teams were unable to settle the game in overtime and after the 10-minute extra frame, took the tie.

The game marked the Beavers' third overtime contest of the. BSU is now 1-1-1 in overtime games in 2014.

Sonja Barr (GK, Sr., Duluth, Minn.) collected three saves in the loss. She falls to  3-6-0 on the season.

Bemidji State, now 4-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, returns to league action tomorrow, when the team travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. to battle University of Sioux Falls in a 1 p.m. contest.
