Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. (Chet Anderson Stadium) -- Sarah Stram scored two goals and Sonja Barr posted three saves to lift the Bemidji State University soccer team to a 3-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory over Minnesota State University Moorhead Sunday at Chet Anderson Stadium.
The Beavers, which improved to 7-6-1 overall and 6-4-1 in NSIC play, ride a five-match unbeaten streak (4-0-1) into a pair of home contests next weekend. BSU hosts Upper Iowa University at 6 p.m. Friday and wraps up the weekend with a 1 p.m. match up with Winona State University. Both matches will be played at Chet Anderson Stadium.
Bemidji State soccer notes:
- Sonja Barr posted three saves for her fourth shutout of the season. She ranks second on BSU’s all-time shutouts list with 15.
- Barr's fourth shutout ties her for eighth on BSU's single-season shutouts list and matches a career-high set in 2012.
- Barr finished the weekend riding a shutout streak of 289:07, surpassing a streak of over 281 minutes to establish a new career-long.
- After playing the first three seasons and 44 games of her collegiate career without a goal, Rachel Scheller has scored twice in 14 games this season.
- Stram netted her team-leading ninth and tenth goals of 2014. It was her third multi-goal match of the season.
- Stram has five goals and two assists in BSU's last three matches.
- Stram’s 10th goal established a new career-high for the sophomore, who led the team with seven a year ago.
- Stram moves into a tie with Lindsey Natwick (2002) and Mary O'Brien (2012) for eighth on BSU's single-season goal scoring list.
- Stram’s 17 career goals placer her in sole possession of eighth place on BSU’s career goal scoring list.
- Bemidji State is a perfect 7-0-0 this season when Stram nets a goal.
- Abby Nyquist posted the second multi-assist game of her career.
- Since the beginning of the 2012 season, BSU is 11-1-0 when Nyquist records an assist.
- BSU is unbeaten in its last five matches (4-0-1) marking its longest streak since it won six straight Sept. 22-Oct. 7, 2012.
