SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Kirsten Smith found the back of the net in the 84th minute to give No. 20 Augustana University a 1-0 victory over the Bemidji State University soccer team, Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.

After more then 83 minutes of scoreless play, The Vikings broke the deadlock when Stephanie Stevens crossed the ball and Smith one-touched the ball for her third goal of the season.

Augustana controlled the action for large portions of time and out shot the Beavers 19-9 in the game with a 9-5 edge in shots on goal.

Anna Fobbe handled the Beavers' goalkeeping duties, stopping eight of nine shots faced. Her record dips to 4-4-0 on the season.

The Beavers drop their fourth consecutive game for the first time since a four-game streak Sept. 26-Oct. 4 of last season.

Bemidji State, now 5-4-0 overall and 2-4-0 in NSIC play, looks to end the losing skid tomorrow, when it travels to Wayne, Neb. for a 1 p.m. match up with Wayne State College.
