MINOT, N.D. – The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team got off to a great start leading at halftime over Minot State University but was unable to hang on in the second to fall in its final regular season road game by a final score of 84-76.
Bemidji State moves its record to 8-16 overall and 4-16 in NSIC play with the loss, while Minot State improves to 14-12 overall and 9-11 in conference action. BSU is back in action to end the 2014-15 regular season at home as it plays host to Minnesota State University Moorhead and Northern State University, Feb. 20-21.
Bemidji State Highlights
- BSU finished with 12 3-pointers in the game and shot 44 percent from the floor.
- The Beavers had four in double figures as Christian Pekarek led all scorers with a career-high 24 points. He hit four 3-pointers and added five rebounds in the loss.
- Irvin Womack added three 3s and scored a career-high 15, while Clayton Elrod knocked down three more triples and 11 points.
- Shane White also charted 11 points in the game and added four rebounds and two blocks.
Minot State Highlights
- Tyler Rudolph and Lamont Prosser helped Minot State to a 32-22 advantage in the paint as the duo combined for 37 points.
- Rudolph was all over the court as he finished with a block and a steal to go along with his first career double-double, scoring a team-high 22 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
- Prosser contributed 15 points and added two rebounds.
- Also scoring double-digits was Thomas Korf (14), Everett Robinson (13) and Nathan Mertens (10).
- Minot State finished the night shooting 61 percent from the floor and went 54 percent from beyond the arc. MSU also went 17-for-21 from the charity stripe.
