Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team forced five sets against No. 8 Wayne State College (Neb.) but were unable to complete the upset, falling 3-2 (25-22, 7-25, 25-22, 20-25, 10-15) in the match. With the loss, the Beavers fall to 7-18 (3-13 NSIC) while the Wildcats improve to 19-6 (10-6 NSIC).
The Wildcats outhit the Beavers 62 kills to 48 but the Beavers defense was strong and totaled 75 digs during the match. Freshman Emma Hallmann paced the Beavers by tying a career high with 21 digs. Four Beavers totaled at least 10 or more digs including Hallmann while senior Jessica Yost tallied 19. Amanda Tronick finished with 12 digs while Freshman Kelli Auer added 10.
Tronick led the Beavers with 20 kills and hit .241 during the match while Yost added 10. The Beavers hit .142 as a team but couldn’t stop a career-high effort from Alyssa Frauendorfer for a match-high 30 kills.
The Beavers will hope to rebound next weekend when they host their final home matches of the season and will honor their seniors for senior night and parents day. BSU will host Winona State University Friday, Nov. 4 for senior night followed by parents day Saturday against Upper Iowa University.
