Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. (BSU Gymnasium) -- St. Cloud State University guard Tori Wortz scored 40 points to lead the Huskies to a 74-56 victory over Bemidji State University Saturday at the BSU Gymnasium.
Bemidji State came out of the gates and caugh the Huskies on thier heels. The Beavers forced SCSU into three turnovers during the first eight minutes and went on an 8-0 run, capped by a Bachmann 3-pointer at 5:11, to take an 11-7 lead. The Beavers would end the quarter clinging to a 20-18 lead.
BSU was 0-for-6 during the final 2:31 of the first half and saw the Huskies assemble a 11-3 run to go into the locker room trailing 41-30 at halftime.
The Beavers opened the second half scoring nine straight points to close the deficit to 46-41 after 2:48 and won the third period 15-9, but still trailed 50-45 to open the fourth quarter.
SCSU dominated play during the final 10 minutes ending the game on a 16-3 run over the last 4:20 as their lead swelled to as many as 19 points with 51 seconds left before settling for a 74-56 victory.
BSU was led Brooklyn Bachmann who recorded 14 points and five rebounds, while Taylor Bray dumped in 13 points and pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
The Beavers, now 2-10 overall and 0-8 in NSIC play return to the road Jan. 11-12 for league games at MSU Moorhead and Northern State.
