Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team fell to Minnesota State University, Moorhead in four sets (19-25, 20-25, 25-16, 17-25) Friday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action. Senior Julie Touchett led the Beavers with 10 kills while four other Beavers posted eight or more kills.
Bemidji State hit just .163 in the match and totaled 47 kills but were out hit by the Dragons (6-7, 1-4) who hit .252 in the match and totaled 50 kills.
Behind Touchett was junior Anna Averkamp who recorded nine kills in 22 attacks for a .27 hitting efficiency in her first action since Sept. 12. Junior Becky Schroeder, sophomore Haley Stolt and freshman Samiya Jami each recorded eight kills while Jami led the team by hitting at a .615 clip, a career-best. Redshirt freshman Maddie Mackinac coordinated the attack and totaled 41 assits.
On defense, senior Emma Hallmann led the Beaves with 19 digs while Stolt added 15 for the double-double and senior Kelli Auer recorded 10. Touchett also led the Beavers at the net and recorded three blocks.
Bemidji State will lookto end its nine-match losing skid when they travel to No. 9 Northern State University at 3 p.m.
