Box Score

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University men’s hockey schedule gained four games today as the Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced schedule changes to replace open dates created by the University of Alaska and the University of Alaska-Anchorage opting out of the 2020-21 season.

The eight remaining WCHA teams will play league games versus the remaining seven member opponents for a total of 14 WCHA games. Teams will also play four additional non-conference games to replace games originally slated to be played against Alaska and Alaska-Anchorage.

The addition brings BSU’s 2020-21 schedule to 23 games which includes nine non-conference games and 14 WCHA contests. If all goes as planned, BSU will finish the season having played 12 games at Sanford Center, while playing 11 on the road.

The Beavers’ new road trip will be to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Jan. 2-3 for a two-game set versus to Lake Superior State. Game times are set for 5:07 p.m. (Central) Jan. 2 and 3 p.m. Jan. 3.

BSU also gained a pair of home games. The Beavers will welcome Bowling Green State University to Sanford Center for a non-conference series Jan. 21-22. The series fits between a pair of home games versus the University of Alabama-Huntsville Jan. 15-16 and a LSSU series set for Jan. 29-30 to create the Beavers longest homestand of the 2020-21 season.

In addition, BSU also modified its final regular-season series versus Minnesota State University, Mankato.  Originally slated for Feb. 26-27 at Sanford Center, the series will now be played as a home-and-home. Bemidji State will travel to Mankato, Minn. to open the two-game set Feb. 25 before MSU makes a return trip to Bemidji, Minn. Feb. 27. Game times are set for 7:07 p.m. and 6:07 p.m., respectively.

BSU, 1-2-0 overall this season wraps up the 2020 calendar year this weekend with a non-conference series at Minnesota State.  The puck drops to open the series at 7:37 p.m. tonight with a 6:07 p.m. opening faceoff set for tomorrow.
