Box Score ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State University’s Olivia Cvar scored with 44 seconds left in the overtime period to earn salvage the series split with the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team Saturday afternoon. Cvar’s goal was the lone goal during the game in the 1-0 victory for the Huskies (6-21-4, 2-19-1-0 WCHA) after each goalie posted shutouts in regulation.
Bemidji State outshot the Huskies 41-19 in the game but were stymied by SCSU goaltender Emma Polusny (5-19-5) who posted the 41-save shutout.
The Beavers end their regular season with a 15-16-3 overall record and 9-13-2 league record and earn the fifth seed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs. Bemidji State has yet to learn its destination for its first round matchup and will travel to the fourth seed. Third-seeded University of Minnesota Duluth holds a one-point advantage over fourth seeded Ohio State University which has three games remaining compared to two for the Bulldogs.
Bemidji State will have next weekend off as it learns its fate for the first round of the WCHA Playoffs.
