Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23) on the road at University of Mary Friday night to continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. With the loss, the Beavers fall to 0-20 (0-12 NSIC) while the Marauders improve to 4-17 (1-11 NSIC).
Bemidji State was led by senior Anna Averkamp who totaled nine kills in the match while sophomore Rylie Bjerklie and freshman Lauren Sitter each followed with eight. The Beavers hit .145 as a team in the match while Sitter paced the Beavers by hitting at a .333 clip (8-2-18). Junior Meeghen Dahlager added six kills while sophomore Rilee Michalson added five.
Freshman Emily Wade totaled 31 assists setting the ball for the Beavers' attack and added four kills offensively while also pacing the Beavers' defense with a career-high 13 digs. Sophomore Lauren Justesen followed Wade with 12 digs on defense while sophomore Madison Weyker added seven.
At the net, Sitter paced the Beavers with four block assists while Bjerklie added a solo block and one assisted block.
Bemidji State continues its road trip and travels to Minot, N.D., to face Minot State University tomorrow evening at 5 p.m.
