BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University men's hockey team jumps back on the road this weekend to continue Central Collegiate Hockey Association play by traveling to Northern Michigan University for a pair of league games.
The No. 20/RV Beavers travel to Marquette, Mich. for a two-game CCHA series beginning Friday, Nov. 11 at 6:07 p.m. CT and ending Saturday at 5:07 p.m. CT.
Both games of the series will be streamed live on FloHockey.tv with play-by-play and color commentary provided by the Beaver Radio Network and the radio broadcast can also be found on 92.1FM or online at www.beaverradionetwork.com.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Bemidji State-Northern Michigan rivalry dates back to 2009 with this year's matchup being the 34th and 25th meetings in the all-time series.
- Bemidji State dominates the all-time series with an 18-9-6 record and have especially been dominant on the road owning a 10-2-2 record in Marquette, Mich.
- Bemidji State took three-of-four games against the Wildcats last season including two games at Berry Events Center.
- Senior Elias Rosén leads all active skaters with seven points (1g-6a) in eight career games versus the Wildcats including a career-high four-point effort (1g-3a) in the two teams last meeting on Feb. 5, 2022. Ross Armour, Eric Martin and Will Zmolek all follow Rosén with two points each.
- Sophomore Mattias Sholl has seen the most action against the Wildcats and in two starts and three games, he is 2-1-0 with a .936 save percentage and 2.03 goals against average in 148 minutes. Junior Gavin Enright follows with a 1-0-1 record, .923 save percentage and 2.77 goals against average.
- Bemidji State is receiving votes in the DCU/USCHO.com top-20 poll and debuted into the USAToday/USAHockeyMagazine top-20 poll and are tied for the No. 20 ranking.
- Bemidji State is coming off a three-point weekend against Ferris State University this past weekend where the Beavers lost in the shootout in game one and then defeated the Bulldogs in overtime in game two.
- Bemidji State is now 4-2-2 overall and are tied for second in the CCHA series standings with their opponent this weekend in Northern Michigan as well as Bowling Green State University. Each team has eight points in the leauge standings.
- The Beavers are led on offense by Canisius College fifth-year transfer Mitchell Martan who has posted nine points off a team-high five goals and four assists.
- Martan is followed by junior Eric Martin (2g-5a) and sophomore Jere Vaisanen who have each totaled seven points in eight games.
- Senior Elias Rosén leads the Beavers' blueline with four points (4a).
- Senior defenseman Kyle Looft paces the Beavers with 22 blocked shots. He is followed by fellow senior Will Zmolek who has 18 blocked shots.
- Sophomore Mattias Sholl has started five of the Beavers' eight games this season and is 2-1-2 with a 1.76 goals against average and .914 save percentage.
- His fellow netminder junior Gavin Enright has appeared in three games and is 2-1-0 with a 2.93 goals against average and .885 save percentage.
- Bemidji State has scored five power-play goals in 26 opportunities (.192) this season.
- The Beavers' penalty kill has allowed eight goals in 32 opportunities (.750).
- Fifth-year senior Ross Armour will co-captain the team with senior defenseman Kyle Looft while senior Elias Rosén and senior Will Zmolek will serve as alternates.
- Tom Serratore is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Bemidji State Men's Hockey program and owns a 358-330-94 career record.
- He is 17-10-5 all-time coaching against the Wildcats.
