BEMIDJI, Minn. – This weekend is a historic one for the Bemidji State University Football team as it prepares to host its first home playoff game in program history. The Beavers (9-2) earned the fourth seed in the NCAA Division II Football Tournament and plays host for the first time in the playoffs to Winona State University at Chet Anderson Stadium.

The Beavers and Warriors (8-3) battle to keep their seasons alive Saturday, Nov. 19 and will kick-off at 1:00 p.m.

Bemidji State Notes
- Bemidji State is fresh off winning its ninth consecutive game and its second consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division championship and shared the overall NSIC championship with Minnesota State and Wayne State.
- The Beavers host the Warriors for the second time this season after the two teams first met in week three also in Bemidji. BSU earned a 34-24 victory over Winona State to pick up its first win of the season and start its nine-game winning streak.
- BSU's Brandon Alt threw for 371 yards and three touchdowns in the game while senior Jalen Frye rushed for 95 yards on 31 attempts and had one touchdown. BSU had two receivers with over 100 yards in the game as Dhel Duncan-Busby paced the corps with 148 yards on eight catches, one for a touchdown, and Brendan Beaulieu totaled 132 yards on seven catches and scored two touchdowns.
- Bemidji State and Winona State have met 78 times in the two program's histories and the Warriors hold a 47-30-1 edge in the all-time record. Saturday's game will be the two teams first meeting in the NCAA Playoffs.
- When playing in Bemidji, the all-time series is tied 18-18-1.
- Bemidji State head coach Brent Bolte is a 2-2 in his six-year head coaching career against the Warriors.
- Alt is approaching career milestones at Bemidji State and is 212 yards and one touchdown shy of surpassing Jordan Hein as the program's career passing yardage and touchdown leader.
- Alt was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Year earlier this week after leading the NSIC with 3,426 passing yards, 33 touchdowns and a 163.4 passing efficiency. He is just the second player in program history to be named NSIC Offensive Player of the Year (Eddie Acosta, 2001).
- Alt stands fifth in Division II in passing yards, third in touchdowns and seventh in passing efficiency.
- His primary target this season has been senior Brendan Beaulieu who is 12 yards shy of breaking his own program record for most receiving yards in a season (1,318) and six receptions shy of breaking his own record for most receptions in a season (76).
- He is already the program's all-time career receiving yards leader (3,528), receiving touchdowns leader (33) and just became the program's career receptions leader (204) to cement himself as one of the all-time Beaver greats.
- Beaulieu's number stacks up well against the nation and he is fifth in DII in receiving touchdowns (14) fourth in yards and 13th in receptions.
- Jalen Frye leads the Beavers' rushing attack and has totaled 725 yards on 179 attempts (4.1/a). His eight rushing touchdowns this season were seventh in the NSIC.
- Bemidji State is one of the highest powered offenses in the nation and are ninth by averaging 40.4 points per game. It also averages 489.8 yards per game which is fourth most in Division II. BSU's primary threat is its passing attack which leads the nation by averaging 336.8 yards through the air.
- The Beavers have also had success on third down, ranking second in DII by converting on .529 percent of their third-down chances.
- BSU's defense is just as formidable and led the NSIC and is 23rd in the nation by holding opponents to just 17.5 points per game. The Beavers also hold opponents to just 268.1 yards on offense, 15th in the nation.
- The Gang-Green defense has held opponents to just a .270 percent success rate on third down for 11th in Division II.
- Bemidji State is led on defense by linebacker Spencer Wehr who has totaled 55 tackles including 36 solo tackles. He is followed by Colton Herman (52) Max Buduris (45) and Colbey Wadsworth (43).
- Zollie Kaplan has been unstoppable rushing the quarterback and is eighth in DII with 12.0 sacks this season. He has totaled 23.5 sacks in his career three shy of tying Jay Hanson for a program record.
