BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University women's basketball team travels to Bellingham, Wash., to compete in the Lynda Goodrich Classic. The Beavers starts the Classic against St. Martin's University at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 25 and on the following day the BSU tips-off against Western Washington University at 6:30 p.m.
The Series vs St. Martin's and Western Washington
- This is the first meeting for the Beavers against the Saints and Vikings in school history.
Fast Break Bemidji State
- The Beavers looks to bounce back after 69-64 loss to University of Minnesota, Crookston, on Tuesday.
- BSU won its first two games of the season against Valley City State University and Mayville State University, 60-43 and 99-95 respectively.
- The Beavers are averaging 74.3 points per game. Fifth-year senior Trinity Yoder is leading the team with 20.3 points per game.
- Sam Pogatchnik is the team leading rebounder with 29 through the first three games and is second in the NSIC.
- Pogatchnik recorded her second double-double of the season in the previous game with 12 points and 11 rebounds
- BSU is fourth in the NSIC with assists with 46. Yoder is leading the conference with 20, six more than second place
- Bemidji State after three games is fifth in the NSIC in scoring offense and 11th in scoring defense. BSU is ninth in field goal percentage (.415) and 14th in 3-point field goal percentage (.274). The Beavers are eighth in turnovers and nineth in assist to turnover ratio.
Scouting St. Martin's
- Head Coach Christy Martin starts her sixth season with the Saints.
- St. Martin's has started the season 2-3.
- SMU averages 54.2 points per game shooting 39.2% and 20.5% from behind the arc.
- This is the first meeting between St. Martin's and Bemidji State.
Scouting Western Washington
- Head Coach Carman Dolfo starts her 31st season with the Vikings (642-251).
- Western Washington has started the season 1-1.
- WWU averages 60.5 points per game shooting 41.0% and 37.1% from behind the arc.
- This is the first meeting between Western Washington and Bemidji State.
