BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Hockey senior defenseman
Elias Rosén has been selected as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the Week after leading the league's blueliners with three points over the weekend.
Rosén, a native of Mora, Sweden, recorded three assists in the Beavers' home-and-home series with University of North Dakota. Rosén earns his first CCHA weekly accolade of the 2022-23 season and fourth overall.
He began the weekend by recording two assists in the Beavers' 3-3 tie against the Fighting Hawks Friday night at Sanford Center and then added another assist in Saturday's 4-2 loss. He also finished the weekend with an even rating on the ice and posted two shots on goal and two blocks.
Joining Rosén as the league's players of the week are David Silye Jr from Minnesota State University, Mankato as the Forward of the Week, Aaron Trotter from University of St. Thomas as the league's Goaltender of the Week and Josh Eernisse from St. Thomas as the league's Rookie of the Week.
Rosén and the rest of the Beaver squad resumes CCHA play at Sanford Center this weekend by hosting St. Thomas Dec. 2-3. Puck drop for game one versus the Tommies is scheduled for 7:07 p.m., with game two starting at 6:07 p.m.
Located on the shore of Lake Bemidji, Bemidji State University sponsors 15 varsity athletic programs with NCAA Division I men's hockey in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and women's hockey in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, while its 13 NCAA Division II programs hold membership in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
