BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Men's Basketball team travels to University of Minnesota, Crookston in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rematch. The Beavers will tip off at 2 p.m., on Saturday Dec. 17 in a game that was pushed ahead from Dec. 31.
The Series vs Minnesota Crookston
· Bemidji State leads the all-time series against Minnesota Crookston, 45-12.
· The Beavers and Golden Eagles last met Nov. 22, 2022, with a 79-74 win by BSU in Bemidji, Minn.
· Bemidji State leads the series 16-10 when playing in Crookston.
· BSU and UMC first met Nov. 11, 1994, an 92-87 win by Minnesota Crookston.
Fast Break Bemidji State
- BSU is going into the weekend after falling to two NSIC opponents on the road at Minnesota State University, Moorhead 49-75 and Northern State University 67-89.
- Junior Dalton Albrecht tied his best weekend of his career with 41 points. Albrecht put up 22 points against MSU Moorhead, second time this season.
- Freshman Tate Olson got his first two starts of the season with the absence of John Sutherland. Olson led the team both nights in rebounds coming away with 15.
- Bemidji State only shot 40.1% from the field, the lowest this season dropping its team average below .500 for the first time this year.
- Albrecht is the new leading scoring scorer with 158 points and averaged 15.8 per game. Sutherland still leads the team with 17.9 ppg.
- Even with missing the previous two games Sutherland leads the team in rebounds averaging 8.6 per game and is third in the NSIC with 69 boards.
- Bemidji State is fourth in the NSIC in points per game with 80.1 and is 14th in scoring defense allowing 78.5 points per game.
- Kone is leading the Beavers in assists with 35, Brayden Williams is right behind him with 32 after setting up seven scores last weekend.
- BSU is third in field goal percentage (.487) and fourth 3-point field goal percentage (.387).
- The Beavers are 15th in turnovers and are 11th in assist to turnover ratio with a 1.09 ratio.
Scouting Minnesota Crookston
- Head Coach Bryan Beamish starts his first season with the Golden Eagles (1-10) after being an assistant coach for UMC for eight seasons.
- Minnesota Crookston (1-10, 0-5 NSIC) dropped its previous two games, falling to Northern State 62-81 and Minnesota State, Moorhead 72-101.
- UMC averages 68.2 points per game shooting 44.4% from the field and 32.5% from behind the arc.
- Sophomore guard Blaize Sagna and junior Xzavier Jones lead the Golden Eagles in score tallying 143 and 132 respectively. Jones also leads the team in rebounds with 57 and Sagna is right behind with 53.
