BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Basketball team travels to University of Minnesota, Crookston Saturday, Dec. 17 for its second meeting of the season. The Beavers play the Golden Eagles two weeks earlier than expected with a schedule change due to inclement weather. The Beavers and Golden Eagles tip-off for Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action from Crookston, Minn., at Noon.
The Series vs Minnesota Crookston
- Bemidji State leads the all-time series against Minnesota Crookston, 28-23.
- The Beavers and Golden Eagles last met Nov. 22, 2022, with a 69-64 win by UMC in Bemidji, Minn.
- Bemidji State leads the series 15-11 when playing in Crookston.
- BSU and UMC first met Jan. 6, 1996, an 101-56 win by Bemidji State.
Fast Break Bemidji State
- The Beavers are still looking for their elusive first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win after dropping their last two games, 42-68 at Minnesota State University, Moorhead and 48-62 at Northern State University.
- Trinity Yoder and Alyssa Hill were the leading scorers on the weekend combining on 45 points in two games.
- Yoder has now led the Beavers in scoring for 31 games in her career after leading the team in both games over the weekend.
- Bemidji State is averaging 57.9 points per game with Yoder leading the team with 15.0 ppg and rank 10th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
- Sam Pogatchnik leads BSU and is fourth in the NSIC in rebounds by averaging 7.4 per game. The Beavers are averaging 37.1 rebounds a game, ninth in the NSIC.
- Yoder has assisted on 35 Beaver baskets, 3.9 per game, to stand third in the conference. Yoder recorded seven in the loss to Northern State
- Bemidji State is 16th in the NSIC in scoring offense and 12th in scoring defense.
- BSU is 16th in field goal percentage (.362) and 12th in 3-point field goal percentage (.307). After going 6-for-34 from three in its last two games.
- Bemidji State is sixth in the conference with 3.89 blocked shots per game with Schires and Hill leading the team with six.
- The Beavers are 13th in turnovers and 15th in assist to turnover ratio.
Scouting Minnesota Crookston
- Head Coach Mike Roysland starts his 17th season with the Golden Eagles (138-294).
- Minnesota Crookston (3-8, 2-3 NSIC) split its previous games last weekend. The Golden Eagles started off with a 61-50 victory of Northern State but dropped the following game 50-71 to MSU Moorhead.
- UMC averages 60.7 points per game shooting 37.7% from the field and 33.2% from behind the arc.
- Freshman guard Emma Miller leads the team with 171 points on the season after scoring 55 points in her previous two games.
