BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Hockey head coach
Tom Serratore announced the commitment of four student-athletes for the Beavers during the NCAA signing period.
Lucas Brennan (Winnipeg, Manitoba),
Isaac Johnson (Dalton, Minn.),
Andrew Ness (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and
Isa Parekh (Nobleton, Ontario) have each signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Bemidji State and play men's hockey for the Beavers.
All signees are contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
The group is made up of two forwards, one defenseman and one goaltender. The four join Gustav Ozolins, Eric Pohlkamp, Jake McLean and Noah Quinn who all signed NLI's last year.

Travis Winter. "They bring a good mix of character, competitiveness and talent. They will be nice additions to our future Beaver Hockey teams."

Lucas Brennan – 5-9 – 170 – Forward– R – Winnipeg, Manitoba (MJHL-Selkirk)
Lucas Brennan is in his second season with the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and has helped the Steelers to a 10-17-3 record through the first 31 games of the 2022-23 season… In 27 games, he leads the MJHL with 26 goals and is tied for the league's lead with 46 points… He also leads the league with 11 power-play goals on the season and has totaled 18 points while on the power play… In 2020-21, he totaled 28 points off 13 goals and 15 assists in 53 games with the Steelers… The Steelers are currently sixth in the East Division of the MJHL standings with 24 league points.
Winter on Brennan: "Lucas plays the game with a ton of pace. He has a great motor, he's around the puck all the time and has a knack for scoring."
Personal: Son of Craig and Serena Brennan… Born on July 7, 2004.

Isaac Johnson – 5-11 – 180 – Forward– L – Dalton, Minn. (USHL-Cedar Rapids)
Isaac Johnson is in his first season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League and has helped the RoughRiders to a 10-10-2-1record through the team's first 23 games of the 2022-23 season… In 18 games he has posted four points off three goals and one assist and has 12 shots on goal… Prior to his junior hockey career Johnson played for the Fergus Falls High School boys hockey program and helped the Otters reach the Section 6A Championship in 2021-22… In his high school career he totaled 114 points off 59 goals and 55 assists… The RoughRiders are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference of the USHL standings with 23 league points.
Winter on Johnson: "Isaac Johnson plays with a high compete level. He has good hockey sense, can create offensively from down low and shoots the puck well. He possesses strong character and other intangibles that will allow growth in his game."
Personal: Son of Mark and Sara Johnson… Born on Mar. 13, 2005.

Andrew Ness – 6-1– 160 – Goaltender – L – Winnipeg, Manitoba (AJHL-Fort McMurray)
Andrew Ness is in his first season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and has helped the Oil Barons to a 18-13-3 record through the team's first 34 games of the 2022-23 season… In 14 games he has posted a 6-5-0 record with a .926 save percentage and 2.56 goals against average and stands fourth in the AJHL in save percentage… On Dec. 10, Ness was named to Team Canada West for the 2022 World Junior A Challenge where he went 1-1-1 with a .917 save percentage and 1.43 goals against average and had one shutout to help Canada West to a fourth-place finish at the tournament… The Oil Barons are currently fourth in the North Division standings of the AJHL with 39 league points.
Winter on Ness: "Andrew is an athletic goalie who moves very well in the crease. He plays the puck with confidence, he's a competitor and has won at every level he's played at."
Personal: Son of David and Susan Ness… Born on May 17, 2004.

Isa Parekh – 6-0 – 161 – Defense – R – Nobleton, Ontario (OJHL-Georgetown)
Isa Parekh is in his fourth season of junior hockey in the Ontario Junior Hockey League and spent two and a half season with the North York Rangers before being traded to the Georgetown Raiders on Dec. 14… In 28 games with the North York Rangers in 2022-23, Parekh has totaled 29 points off five goals and 24 assists and in three games with the Raiders he has totaled one goal… Parekh is currently tied for sixth among defenseman in the OJHL with 30 points… The Raiders currently have a 19-8-2-2 record and are fourth in the North/West Conference of the OJHL with 42 league points.
Winter on Parekh: "Isa Parekh is a smooth skating defenseman with a good skill set from the blue line. His skating ability and vision allow him to make plays on the blue line and join the rush creating second wave offense."
Personal: Son of Azim Parekh and Mona Lee.. Born on Sept. 23, 2003.
