Box Score ABERDEEN, S.D. (Wachs Arena) -- Senior guard Brooklyn Bachmann recorded her 13th career 20-point game Friday night as the Bemidji State University women's basketball team fell at Northern State University, 75-67. Bachmann led BSU with 21 points as the Beavers fall to 13-9 overall and 11-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Senior guard Trinity Yoder followed in scoring with 16 points with five assists and four rebounds while sophomore center Rachael Heittola scored 11 points with a team-high nine rebounds.
Northern State outscored Bemidji State over each of the first three quarters, including a 6-0 start to the game. The Beavers came back to take a 10-8 lead following a layup from Yoder but saw the lead fall away for good on the ensuing Wolves possession.
BSU was held to five or fewer field goals in each of the first two quarters, setting up a 37-25 deficit at halftime. The Beavers put in four 3-pointers to battle back to within three points, 46-43, just before the five-minute mark in the third quarter. The Wolves ended the period on a 13-2 run, holding the Beavers to 1-of-7 from the field over the final 4:41 to lead by 14, 59-45.
NSU pushed its lead to game-high 18 points, 72-54, with 4:03 to play before BSU ended the game on a 13-3 run. Bachmann scored six points during the run that brought BSU within seven points, 72-65, with 56 seconds left. Northern State went 3-of-4 from the free throw line to seal the game.
Bemidji State finishes its weekend Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. tip-off at Minnesota State University Moorhead at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.
