BEMIDJI, Minn. – A 48-save night for Kerigan Dowhy was not enough to keep the Ohio State University Buckeyes at bay to close out Bemidji State University Women's Hockey's senior weekend this evening. The Beavers fell to the Buckeyes, 8-1, with a second-period goal from Reece Hunt.

The Buckeyes made it onto the scoreboard early with four goals coming from Sophie Jaques, Riley Brengman, Jennifer Gardiner, and Clair DeGeorge. The Beavers answered back with a goal late in the second period, holding the scoring at 4-1 going into the third period. Ohio State then kept Bemidji State from scoring and heightened their lead with four unanswered goals in the third period, putting the Buckeyes up 8-1 and taking three points for the WCHA standings.

Eight Bemidji State seniors were honored this weekend for their dedication to Bemidji State Women's Hockey. Fifth-year seniors Kerigan Dowhy, Paige Beebe, Lindsey Featherstone and Lydia Passolt were honored with a postgame ceremony on Friday. This afternoon, true seniors Ellie Moser, Graysen Myers, Lexi Baker and Claudia Verkerke were celebrated.

The Beavers now move to 11-16-3 this season with an 8-16-2 record in WCHA play. They will travel to Mankato, Minn. Feb. 18 and 19 to play Minnesota State University Mankato in the final regular season series of the 2021-22 season.
