Box Score MADISON, Wisc. -- Bemidji State University women's hockey was shutout this afternoon by a score of 5-0 from No. 4 University of Wisconsin. The Badgers now move on to the WCHA Final Faceoff Semifinals in Minneapolis, Minn. next weekend.
A 44-save game from fifth-year senior Kerigan Dowhy wasn't enough to keep the Beavers alive during the Quarterfinal matchup. The Badgers lit the scoreboard three times in the first period off goals from Casey O'Brien, Nicole Lamantia and Daryl Watts. A two-goal second period added to Wisconsin's lead and finished the scoring with a second goal from O'Briend and a goal from Makenna Webster.
The Beavers end their season with an 11-20-3 record with 8-18-2 in WCHA regular-season action.
Four fifth-year seniors, Lydia Passolt, Lindsey Featherstone, Paige Beebe and Kerigan Dowhy, will say their goodbyes to Beaver hockey and move into the alumnae titles, bringing with them a handful of Bemidji State records and memories along with them.
The Badgers will now join Ohio State University, the winner of the University of Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota State University Mankato matchup, and the winner of the University of Minnesota and University of St. Thomas series at the WCHA Final Faceoff series in Minneapolis, Minn. at Ridder Arena next weekend.
