BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Football Team kicks-off week five of the college football season by opening up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division play. The Beavers head west 325 miles via Highway 2 to Minot, N.D., for a clash of the Beavers from Minot State University. Kick-off is slated for Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m., from Herb Parker Stadium and will be broadcast on the NSIC Network and the Beaver Radio Network.
 
Bemidji State Notes
• BSU returns 14 starters (10 offense, 4 defense) from last year's team that recorded the first 10-win season in program history. The Beavers secured a share of the 2021 NSIC Championship, the second title in program history, and won the NSIC North Division outright for the first-time last season.
 
• Bolte was named the 2021 NSIC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career while offensive coordinator Karson Pike was selected as the 2021 NSIC Assistant Coach of the Year, also for the first time.
 
• Bemidji State is 21-1 all-time against Minot State and is undefeated when playing on the road with a perfect 11-0 record.
 
• The Beavers have won 18 consecutive games against Minot State including a 49-35 win in 2021. Brandon Alt threw for 301 yards off 12-of-33 attempts and four touchdowns while Sage Booker rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown on 20 attempts. Brendan Beaulieu was second amongst BSU receivers with three receptions, one for a touchdown, and 81 yards.
 
• Bolte is 5-0 in his head coaching career against Minot State.
 
• Bolte surpassed legendary head coach Chet Anderson for third-most coaching victories with his 44th victory last week at Upper Iowa.
 
• Senior Brendan Beaulieu became BSU's all-time receiving yards leader last weekend after surpassing Anthony Schreiber with 2, 708 career receiving yards. He also recorded his 11th career 100 yard receiving game, most in school history.
 
• Junior quarterback Brandon Alt leads all of Division II with 1,122 passing yards this season. He is one of two quarterbacks in DII with over 1,000 passing yards and His 374.0 passing yards per game average also leads the nation.
 
• Jalen Frye stands at 2,190 career rushing yards good for seventh all-time at Bemidji State.
 
• Junior quarterback Brandon Alt has totaled 6,138 career passing yards for second all-time at BSU. He is also second all-time with 69 career passing touchdowns and third in completions (414).
 
• Alt set the NSIC and BSU single-season passing touchdown record last season with 46. He also broke program records with 4,245 passing yards and 284 completions. He is a reigning D2CCA All-Super Region 4 Second Team and NSIC North Division All-Conference Second Team selection.
 
• Alt leads the NSIC and is third in Division II with 1,353 passing yards this season. He also leads the conference and second in Division II with 13 passing touchdowns trailing Drew Willoughby from St. Anselm.
 
• Beaulieu is second in the NSIC and seventh in Division II with 487 receiving yards this season. Beaulieu leads the NSIC with six receiving touchdowns and is third in Division II.
 
• Bemidji State had its first 150+ yard rushing game of the season last week against Winona State and first since rushing for 152 yards against Concordia-St. Paul, Oct. 9, 2021.
 
• Frye leads the Beavers' rushing attack and has totaled 254 yards on 69 attempts (3.4/a) while junior Sage Booker follows with 148 yards on 50 attempts (2.8/a) and has totaled two touchdowns.
 
• Bemidji State is led on defense by linebacker Max Buduris who has totaled 24 tackles including 16 solo tackles. He is followed by Spencer Wehr with 22 tackles (14s) and Stephen Hoffman with 19 (10s).
 
• Zollie Kaplan paces the "Gang-Green" defense with three sacks while Buduris follows with two.
 
• Princeten Harris leads Bemidji State defensive backs with two interceptions while Colton Herman has added one.
