DULUTH, Minn. – No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth completed its Western Collegiate Hockey Association sweep over the Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0 at AMSOIL Arena.

The Bulldogs (17-6-1, 11-6-1 WCHA) used a three-goal first period to deflate the Beavers (4-19-1, 1-17-0 WCHA) enroute to the 5-0 victory.

UMD's Anneke Linser scored two goals while goaltender Emma Soderberg turned aside all eight shots by the Beavers for the shutout.

Bemidji State sophomore
Abbie Thompson made her second start of the season for the Beavers and turned aside 29-of-34 shots.

The Beavers return home next weekend and will host their second consecutive nationally ranked opponent in University of Minnesota. The Beavers and Gophers will clash for a two-game, league series beginning Friday, Jan. 20 at 3:01 p.m.
