Augustana runs away from Bemidji State 82-38

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Bemidji State University Women's Basketball team could not keep pace with the hot hands of Augustana University falling 82-38 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, Saturday night in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Vikings shot 32-for-61 (52.5), the most efficient shooting the Beavers have seen all year and could not match them going 16-for-56 (28.6)

The Beavers fall to 5-13 on the season and 2-12 on the season in conference play, with the Vikings improving to 17-3 and 11-3 in the NSIC. BSU is still winless against AU when played in Sioux Falls, S.D., and now fall to 2-15 when the two meet.

Bemidji State added a 4-for-22 (18.2) clip from three and 2-7 from the free throw line. The Vikings put on a performance, in addition to their strong shooting from the field, they also went 6-17 from deep and a perfect 12-12 from the charity stripe.

Alyssa Hill was the sole Beaver to break into the double-figures in scoring with 15 points coming from 12 points in the paint and a three-ball. Trinity Yoder was second on the team recording seven points and led BSU with five assists. Amme Sheforgen, Rachel Koenig, Brooke Theis and Rumer Flatness all got in the scorer's book with three points and Sam Pogatchnik and Ella Giorgi recorded two points in the game.

Augustana opened the game scoring the first four points before Hill connected on a pair of layups around a jumper by the Vikings to keep the deficit at two. After Hill scored her sixth-straight point of the quarter to keep the deficit at five, the Vikings went on a 13-2 run to close out the first quarter and hold a 24-8 advantage.
