Bemidji State hosts Minnesota Morris this Saturday before holiday break

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Basketball team will have one more game prior to the Thanksgiving break this Saturday when they host Minnesota Morris for a 2 p.m. start time inside the BSU Gym.

Bemidji State (1-1) has been home to start the season having already played St. Scholastica (71-52) and Mayville State (52-63). Last time out, Alyssa Hill paced the Beavers with 19 points and six rebounds against Mayville State. Sydney White was close to a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds.

Two games in, Bemidji State is averaging 61.5 points and allowing 57.5. BSU is 45-125 (36.0) from the field, 13-41 (31.7) from three and 20-31 (64.5) at the foul line. Opponents have made 41-122 (33.6) from the field, 8-41 (19.5) from three and 25-38 (65.8) at the foul line.

Hill is averaging 14 points and 4.5 rebounds, while shooting over 52 percent (11-21) from the field. Sam Pogatchnik is at nine points per game and five rebounds, making over 46 percent (7-15) from the floor. White is averaging seven points and seven rebounds per game. Erin Barrette is at six points per game, with Alayna Suprenand adding 5.5 points.

Minnesota Morris is 1-3 on the season having lost to Wisconsin-River Falls last time out by a score of 47-37 this past Wednesday. The Cougars defeated St. Olaf College back on Nov. 11 (60-51) for their one win of the season.

UMM is averaging 55.3 points and allowing 65.3. The Cougars have made 77-193 (39.9) from the field, 12-52 (23.1) from three and 55-76 (72.4) at the foul line. Opponents have connected on 89-244 (36.5) from the field, 38-113 (33.6) from three and 45-62 (72.6) at the foul line.

Bemidji State is 8-2 against Minnesota Morris since 1998 and have won the past eight meetings. The Beavers are 4-1 at home against the Cougars. The last meeting was during the 2002-03 season with BSU claiming the 101-43 win in Bemidji.
