BEMIDJI, Minn. – For the second consecutive week, Bemidji State University Men's Hockey fifth-year senior Kyle Looft has been tabbed as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the Week announced by the league Monday afternoon.
 
This is the third weekly league accolade of the season for Looft who was previously named the Defenseman of the Week on Oct. 23 and Nov. 13 and was the CCHA Defenseman of the Month for October.
 
Looft paced all conference defensemen in assists (3) and points (3) last week, helping the Beavers to a split at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He also recorded seven shots on goal and two blocks at the defensive end, with a +1 rating. His weekend was highlighted by recording three helpers in a 7-6 come-from-behind victory on Saturday night, including assists on Bemidji State's first two tallies and the game-tying marker in the third period.
 
Looft leads all league defenseman with 15 points off five goals and 10 assists and is tied for second among all DI defensemen.
 
He is joined by Lake Superior State University's Jared Westcott (Forward), Northern Michigan University's Charlie Glockner (Goaltender) and Ferris State University's Luigi Benincasa (Rookie) as league players of the week.
 
Looft and the rest of the Beavers take a break from CCHA play this weekend and travel to Grand Forks, N.D., to take on No. 1 University of North Dakota Nov. 24-25.
