BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Senior forward Dalton Albrecht put together another terrific week and was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Albrecht delivered the game-winning put back at the buzzer to send the Beavers to the 103-102 double overtime win at St. Cloud State. That helped Bemidji State go 2-0 for the week after defeating UMary at home a few days earlier.
Overall, Albrecht averaged 22.5 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal. He went 15-31 from the field, 4-12 from three and 11-15 at the foul line. Albrecht opened the week in the win against UMary going for his national-leading eighth double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Then against St. Cloud State, he added 25 points and nine rebounds. He logged 75 minutes of time on the court for the week.
For the season, Albrecht is averaging a double-double with 17.8 points and 11.1 rebounds. He is making over 49 percent (78-159) from the field, leads the team in free throws made (37) and is second on the team in three-pointers made (20). Albrecht has scored 20 or more points in three of his last four games and has a double-double in two of his last three games.
This is the second NSIC Player of the Week for Bemidji State as John Sutherland earned the award back on Dec. 4.
