Corcoran and Sholl earn CCHA Players of the Week after series sweep of Bowling Green

Vince Corcoran and Mattias Sholl named CCHA Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week

BEMIDJI, Minn. – After helping Bemidji State University to a series sweep of Bowling Green State University and vaulting the team into first place in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association standings, Vince Corcoran and Mattias Sholl were named the league's Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week.

The two earn their first weekly honor from the league in 2023-24 with Corcoran earning his first career nod and Sholl earning his fourth.

Corcoran, a native of Plainfield, Ill., earns his first CCHA recognition after scoring a goal and assist and posted seven shots on goal, the most by a league defenseman. He recorded both points in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Falcons for his first collegiate goal and first collegiate multi-point effort.

Sholl earns his first weekly accolade after an injury sidelined him for a majority of the first half of the season. Going 2-0-0, Sholl stopped 34-of-37 total shots in the series for a .919 save percentage and finished with a 1.50 goals against average. The Hermosa Beach, Calif., native made 18 saves in Thursday's victory followed by 16 on Friday and also helped the Beaver penalty kill go a perfect 6-for-6 by stopping all nine shots he faced.

Corcoran and Sholl were joined by Lake Superior State University's Timo Bakos (Forward) and Cam Kungle (Rookie) as CCHA players of the week.
