PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Bemidji State University Women's Hockey freshman
Eva Filippova recorded a career-high 48 saves but the Beavers fell to No. 4 Colgate University 6-0 Saturday evening to finish second at the Battle at the Burgh tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Filippova held the Raiders to just two goals through 44 minutes of action but a four-goal third period from Colgate including three power-play goals denied the Beavers (3-16-1) any chance at a comeback.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Beavers while the fourth-ranked Raiders have won three in-a-row.
Bemidji State will have a week of rest before returning to Western Collegiate Hockey Association play Jan. 12-13 with a road trip to University of Minnesota Duluth.
