BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team ended its 2022-23 regular season Saturday afternoon after falling 5-1 to No. 8 University of Minnesota Duluth who claimed the Western Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep over the Beavers.
The Beavers honored their three seniors in part of Senior Day as the final home game of the season.

Bemidji State finishes the regular season with a 5-28-1 record and went 2-26-0 in conference playing earning the eighth seed in the WCHA Playoffs. The Beavers will have to wait to find out their opponent for the first round but could travel to Ohio State University or University of Minnesota.
Bemidji State had the start it wanted in the game when senior
Reece Hunt scored on the game's first shot just 37 seconds after the opening face-off.
The goal was the sixth of the season for the Nelson, B.C., native and quickest goal to start a game for the Beavers this season.
However, the Bulldogs would find the equalizer midway through the period when Mannon McMahon scored at 12:05 of the frame.
The two teams would skate into the first intermission locked at one but The Bulldogs would have a strong second period for the second consecutive night. UMD's Taylor Anderson would hand the Bulldogs their first lead of the game with her 11
th goal of the season 5:58 into the middle frame. Gabbie Hughes then made it 3-1 at 10:04 of the period and then Anderson scored her second of the game at 15:56 to cap-off a three-goal second period for the Bulldogs.
Minnesota Duluth's Tova Henderson would score her first collegiate goal at 16:48 of the third period for the game's final goal and seal the 5-1 victory for the Bulldogs.
Bemidji State now awaits the results of Saturday night and Sunday to find out its first round opponent in the WCHA Playoffs. The first round of the playoffs begins Feb. 24-26 with a best-of-three series played at the rink of the WCHA regular season champion yet to be determined.
