After a quick Minot State bucket 32 seconds into the second half, Bemidji State responded with seven unanswered points. Sutherland tallied the first four points before Albrecht closed the spurt with a triple. Two quick threes from Mason Hedberg helped MSU pull back to within 11 nearly three minutes in. Tennyson became the sixth student-athlete for BSU to make a three when he connected from behind the arc at the 13:49 mark. That capped a 7-0 run that had BSU holding the 49-31 advantage. MSU went on its most efficient roll after going 5-for-6, but traded baskets with BSU so they were only able to trim the deficit to 12 near the midway point. Following that run, BSU responded with a quick 8-0 hit that had the lead out to 20 when Kone sunk his third trey of the game at 63-43. MSU did not go down without a fight pulling within 12 points with under three minutes as Bemidji State began to wind down the clock. After a steal from MSU and a long pass for a Jalen Cook made layup had the lead down to 10 for the first time in the half while the BSU was held scoreless for four minutes. An alley-oop from Williams to Sutherland ended the dry spell with under a minute left to play.
