FAYETTE, Iowa – The Bemidji State University Baseball team fell in both games of its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader at Upper Iowa University Tuesday afternoon. The Beavers (1-19, 0-5 NSIC) fell in two seven-inning games to the Peacocks (7-9, 3-2 NSIC) by scores of 13-2 and 10-0.
 
Bemidji State recorded four hits in each game and were out-hit in the series 22-8. Senior James Wirt earned the lone RBI in the series for the Beavers with an RBI single in the seventh inning of game one. Sophomore Hunter Daymond scored the other run after scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning.
 
Sophomore Isaiah Biehn had the lone extra-base hit for BSU after doubling and later scoring off of Wirt's base hit.
 
Sophomore Derek Hoffman earned the loss in game one (0-1) after pitching 4.0 innings and allowed six runs, five earned, off five hits, walked two and struck out three batters.
 
Biehn earned the loss in game two (0-2) and pitched 5.0 innings allowing seven runs, six earned, off 10 hits, walked two and struck out three as well.
 
The Beavers will return home from the 14-day road trip and host University of Sioux Falls for a three-game league series at BSU Baseball Field. The Beavers and Cougars' series begins Saturday, Mar. 25 with a two-game set beginning at 1:30 p.m., followed by one game Sunday at Noon.
