BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Hockey team was voted to finish eighth in the 2023 Western Collegiate Hockey Associate Preseason Coaches' Poll announced by the league Monday morning.
The Beavers earned seven points in the poll where head coaches could not vote for their own team.

Defending national champion Wisconsin and defending league champion Ohio State are the picks among league head coaches to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's 2023-24 regular season title.
Each team received four first place and totaled 46 points in preseason polling among the WCHA's eight coaches. The results of the poll showed an expected tight race and a lot of premier players as the WCHA heads into its 25
th season of competition.
The league also announced that Wisconsin's Carolyn Harvey was voted the WCHA Preseason Player of the Year with Ohio State's Joy Dunne the Preseason Rookie of the Year. The Preseason All-WCHA Team consists of Harvey, Kayla Barnes (OSU), Abby Murphy (UM), Casey O'Brien (UW), Jenn Gardiner (OSU), Kirsten Simms (UW) and Amanda Thiele (OSU).
The 2023-24 season is right around the corner for the Beavers as they drop the puck on the fresh season Sept. 23-24 with a road series at Lindenwood University. BSU hosts its first series at Sanford Center the following weekend (Oct. 6-7) with a non-conference series against RPI.
