Defending national champion Wisconsin and defending league champion Ohio State are the picks among league head coaches to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's 2023-24 regular season title.

Each team received four first place and totaled 46 points in preseason polling among the WCHA's eight coaches. The results of the poll showed an expected tight race and a lot of premier players as the WCHA heads into its 25th season of competition.

The league also announced that Wisconsin's Carolyn Harvey was voted the WCHA Preseason Player of the Year with Ohio State's Joy Dunne the Preseason Rookie of the Year. The Preseason All-WCHA Team consists of Harvey, Kayla Barnes (OSU), Abby Murphy (UM), Casey O'Brien (UW), Jenn Gardiner (OSU), Kirsten Simms (UW) and Amanda Thiele (OSU).

The 2023-24 season is right around the corner for the Beavers as they drop the puck on the fresh season Sept. 23-24 with a road series at Lindenwood University. BSU hosts its first series at Sanford Center the following weekend (Oct. 6-7) with a non-conference series against RPI.
