It was the second goal of the season for the senior from Thief River Falls, Minn., while Smith earned her team-leading ninth assist on the play.

The Beavers maintained the lead for the next 29 minutes but Minnesota took advantage of a power play and tied the game from the stick of Emma Kreisz at 16:32 of the second period.

The teams would head into the second intermission locked in the 1-1 tie, but just 1:33 into the third period, Minnesota once again scored while on the power play this time from the stick of Ava Lindsay.

The Beavers pressed to score the equalizing goal but with 5:44 to play, Minnesota' Josefin Bouveng sealed the game with her second goal of the series.
