GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Tierra Doss broke her own program record at the same meet she set it at a year ago hitting a new top mark in the discus during the opening day of the UND Open on Friday.
Doss had a throw of 138-11 for the new program record which helped her place second overall in the event. The discus field featured 21 competitors, as Doss finished between two from North Dakota.
Zayda Priebe added a top-five finish in the discus coming in fifth with a throw of 122-4. Hannah Baker placed 11th (111-9), Cassidy Schmidt right behind in 12th (110-10), Emma Erickson in 15th (102-00), and Molly Saboo in 21st (69-00).
Natalie Fultz competed in the pentathlon coming in eighth with 2,684 points. She tied for first in the high jump with a height of 5-4.25. Fultz added a third-place result in the 800-meter crossing with a time of 2:26.73. She then came in eighth in the 60-meter (9.88) and ninth in the shot put (28-6.25). Fultz didn't record a score in the long jump fouling on three tries.
Bemidji State will continue the UND Open on Saturday starting at 12 p.m.
