BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University senior alternate captain
Jere Vaisanen was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week for the first time this season after helping the Beavers to a series split at Ferris State University this past weekend.

Vaisanen earns his third career CCHA weekly award and second as the league's Forward of the Week after pacing the CCHA with three goals over the weekend.

The Espoo, Finland native started the weekend by scoring two goals Friday night for his second caree two-goal night. He then scored once in Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs. One of his goals was a power-play marker, the first of the season for Vaisanen while he also recorded four shots on goal and won 61-percent (14-of-23) of his face-offs.

Vaisanen was joined by Ferris State's Nico DeVita (Defenseman), Minnesota State's Alex Tracy (Goaltender) and Augustana's Christian Manz (Rookie) as league athletes of the week.
