ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Soccer team fell in the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at Concordia University-St. Paul Monday afternoon. The Golden Bears shutout the Beavers 1-0 at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul.
The loss ends the Beavers' 2024 season as the team finishes with a 9-7-3 record and went 7-4-3 in conference play. The collegiate playing careers of
Sonia Alfieri,
Lauren Hodny,
Anna Breffle,
Lili Wade,
Maria Stocke,
Lauren Harrison and
Miah Olson also come to a close.
CSP's Sophia Haase scored in the 22
nd minute while goalkeeper Sydney Potter kept the Beavers scoreless to earn the 1-0 shutout victory.
The Beavers best chance of the match came in the 41
st minute off the foot of freshman
Sydney Sutherland but Potter made a leaping save to preserve the shutout.
CSP out-shot BSU 5-4 in the game but the Beavers pressured more in the second half out-shooting the Golden Bears 4-1 in the second half.
Potter and Alfieri each made four saves in the match.
