BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Hockey freshman goaltender
Kaitlin Groess was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week Monday afternoon after helping the Beavers sweep University of St. Thomas this past weekend. Groess earns her first honor from the WCHA.
The Ham Lake, Minn., native helped the Beavers to their first series sweep since 2022 this past weekend at Sanford Center by stopping 56-of-60 shots against the Tommies. Posting a 2-0-0 record between the pipes with a save percentage of .933, Groess began the series stopping 17-of-18 shots Friday night. She then stopped 39-of-42 shots Saturday afternoon to help the Beavers clinch their first sweep of the season.

Hailey Armstrong (Oct. 21) as a Beaver to recognized by the WCHA this season. She was joined by Minnesota's Abbey Murphy (Forward) and Hannah Clark (Goaltender) and Ohio State's Riley Brengman (Defender) as weekly award recipients.
