BEMIDJI, Minn. – After helping the (RV) Bemidji State University Men's Hockey team to a five-point weekend over University of St. Thomas this past weekend at Sanford Center, freshman defenseman
Isa Parekh has been tabbed the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week.
Â
Parekh earns his first career accolade from the CCHA after scoring a goal and assist against the Tommies. On Friday, he netted a power-play goal in a 2-2 tie with the Tommies and then set up the Beavers' tying goal in their eventual 2-1 win Saturday. He held a +1 rating on the ice over the weekend with three shots on goal and two blocks at the defensive end.
Â
The Nobleton, Ontario native joined Lake Superior State's Timo Bakos (Forward), Augustana's Uula Ruikka (Defenseman) and Minnesota State's Alex Tracy (Goaltender) as league weekly award winners.
