BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Football kicking specialist Connor Mantelli has been named this week's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. Mantelli marked 35% of the Beavers' points scored against Wayne State College on Saturday.
 
Mantelli, a six-foot-one-inch redshirt junior, grabbed 13 points for the Beavers during their 37-20 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday. He tallied three field goals, two in the second quarter and one in the third and added four point-after kicks to help solidify the win for BSU. Mantelli's field goal sequence marked season and career highs with a longest field goal of 36 yards. Additionally, he punted twice for the Beavers, marking 64 total yards with a long of 36 yards, both punts were fair caught by the Wildcats and one was inside the 20-yard line. 
 
Recently moved into the PAT and field-goal kicking spot for BSU, Mantelli now has four field-goal attempts with three made and a long of 36 yards. He has gone 11-for-11 on PATs and has punted 34 times for 1280 yards with a long of 53 yards at Minnesota State University Mankato. 
 
Mantelli and the Beavers now head to Moorhead, Minn. this Saturday for the annual Battle Axe Rivalry game against Minnesota State University Moorhead. Kickoff is scheduled for noon and the game will be available on the Beaver Radio Network and NSIC Network. Following this weekend, the Beavers return home for the final regular-season game, hosting Augustana University Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. Tickets for this game are available on Hometown Ticketing and at the gates.
