BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Basketball fell to Minnesota State University Moorhead 81-74 on Saturday at home.
Bemidji State struggled in the first half against MSUM, trailing 43-25. Bemidji State shot 10-for-25 from the field, including one 3-pointer on five attempts, and converted four of six free throws. Despite scoring 16 points in the paint and 17 points off the bench, Bemidji State was out-rebounded 25-12 and committed six turnovers. The Dragons capitalized on their opportunities with 15-for-36 shooting, including five 3-pointers, and took advantage of 11 offensive rebounds to secure a lead.
In the second half, Bemidji State outscored MSU Moorhead 49-38, showcasing a balanced team effort with 18 field goals on 32 attempts, including six 3-pointers on 12 tries. Bemidji State capitalized on their bench strength, scoring 32 bench points compared to MSUM's one.
Tate Olson led the charge for Bemidji State, contributing significantly with two 3-pointers, multiple assists, and key defensive rebounds, while
Jareon Mayo added crucial points with three successful layups and two 3-pointers.

Jareon Mayo led the team with 22 points, a career high for the junior transfer out of Lima, Ohio, making 9 of 13 field goals, and was a crucial offensive presence.
John Pecarich contributed significantly with 19 points, hitting 7 of 9 field goals and 4 of 5 three-point attempts.
Daxton Dayley was a standout on the boards, securing 10 total rebounds, which included 5 offensive and 5 defensive.
Tate Olson facilitated the offense with 4 assists and also added 9 points and 7 rebounds to his stat line. These players were instrumental in Bemidji State's on-court efforts.
Bemidji State holds an overall record of four wins and six losses, with a conference record of one win and three losses in NSIC play. The Dragons stand at nine wins and one loss overall, maintaining a perfect four and zero record in the NSIC. The Beavers split the weekend after defeating Northern State University 72-70 on Friday, before taking Saturday's loss against MSU Moorhead.
Following a loss in their recent game, the Bemidji State basketball team will face St. Cloud State University. The game is scheduled for December 19, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. It will take place in Bemidji, Minn., where Bemidji State will play as the home team.
