AUGUSTA, Ga. – Bemidji State University's Men's Basketball senior forward
Dalton Albrecht earned his second weekly award this week after being named the men's basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. He is the first Beaver to earn the national weekly recognition.
He averaged 28.5 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game and shot 74.2 percent from the field and was named the NSIC Player of the Week on Monday
Albrecht opened with 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting and nine rebounds in an 86-70 win over Northern State. He followed that with a career-high 31 points on 13-for-15 shooting, including 5-of-6 3-pointers, with 12 rebounds against Minnesota Crookston. For the week, he shot .742 (23-of-31) from the field, .615 (8-of-13) from long range and hit all three of his free throw attempts. He added 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game.
Albrecht currently leads the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and is 13th in NCAA Division II in rebounding. He is also 10th in the conference in scoring and fifth in field goal percentage.
Bemidji State will play its final home games of the regular season this weekend hosting University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State University at BSU Gymnasium Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, respectively.
The Division II Player of the Week awards are selected by the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA).
