BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball heads to University of Minnesota Duluth and No. 21 Concordia University, St. Paul Friday and Saturday for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers enter the weekend at 4-10 overall with 14th place in the NSIC, holding a conference record of 2-8. Last weekend, the Beavers fell to then No. 11 Minnesota State University Mankato, 96-64, and Winona State University, 75-57.
- Tieryn Plasch continues to lead the Beavers in points scored (143, 10.2 per game), field goals (.435 percent), three-point field goals (.453 percent) and minutes played.
- From the free-throw line, Rachel Koenig is the dominate force for the Beaver offense, landing 24-of-28 for a shooting percentage of .857. Earlier this season, from Dec. 13 until Jan. 3, Koenig had not missed a single shot, landing 14 shots in a row.
- Aubrey Heyer has quickly jumped to the top of the rebounding leader board, grabbing 5.2 per game for a 73 rebound total.
- Following the weekend, Bemidji State returns home to host No. 23 Southwest Minnesota State University Friday at 7:30 p.m. and University of Sioux Falls Saturday at 5:30 p.m. All Beaver games are available for listening on the Beaver Radio Network and for streaming on the NSIC Network.
Minnesota Duluth Notes
- The Bulldogs enter the weekend at 5-10 overall with a 3-7 record in the conference, holding 12th place in the NSIC. They split their last two games against Minnesota State University Moorhead and St. Cloud State University, taking the win over MSUM 74-50.
- Myra Moorjani leads the Bulldogs with scoring 190 points and landing free throws 40-of-57 free throws. Lexi Karge and Johnanna Miller lead in rebounding with 6.1 per game at totals of 91 each.
No. 21 Concordia-St. Paul Notes
- Nationally-ranked Concordia-St. Paul sits at second place in the NSIC with an 8-2 conference record and 14-2 overall. They'll take on University of Minnesota Crookston Friday evening before hosting the Beavers at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
- Lydia Haack leads the team in scoring, field-goal shooting and free-throw shooting. Lindsey Becher is the top rebounder with 129 total rebounds, 39 on offense and 90 on defense for a total average per game of 8.1.
