Beavers and Huskies slated for Tuesday

BSU hopes to add another tally to win column after Saturday afternoon victory

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men's Basketball travels to St. Cloud, Minn. Tuesday to take on the St. Cloud State University Huskies at Halenbeck Hall at 5:30 p.m.
 
Bemidji State Notes
  • The Beavers enter the week on a high note after defeating University of Sioux Falls, 76-68, Saturday evening in Bemidji. This win broke a six-game losing streak for the Beavers and moved the team to 7-13 overall with a 4-10 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 
  • Earlier this season, the Beavers hosted the Huskies on Dec. 19 when they fell, 88-75, heading into the winter break. 
  • BSU is led in scoring by Tate Olson who has amassed 228 points this season, averaging 11.4 per game. Olson also leads the team in field-goal shooting at 47.1%, rebounding with 9.0 per game, assists at 3.0 per game and minutes played with an average of 32.6 per game. 
  • Sophomore guard John Pecarich leads the three-point shooting race for BSU, marking 38 makes on 88 attempts for a shooting percentage of .432 percent. He averages 1.9 threes made per game and attempts 4.4.
  • Following Tuesday's trip to St. Cloud, the Beavers return home to host the University of Mary on Thursday for Beach Night. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. with both games available on the Beaver Radio Network and NSIC Network for listening and streaming, respectively. 
 
St. Cloud State Notes
  • St. Cloud State enters the week at 13-9 overall and 9-5 in the NSIC after falling to No. 15 Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday. The Beavers were defeated by the same team the night before. 
  • The Huskies are well versed in overtime games this season, marking three wins coming from overtime periods against NSIC competition. 
  • SCSU is led by Nate Dahl with 281 total points this season. Not far behind him is Luke Winkel with 259 and Wyatt Hawks at 235. Hawks also dominates the Huskies' rebounding game with a total of 179 this season, averaging 8.1 grabs per game. 
  • Following Tuesday's game, the Huskies will head to Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons at 3:30 p.m. They'll then head to University of Mary on Wednesday, Feb. 5 before returning home on Feb. 8 to host Minot State University.
