BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball travels to St. Cloud, Minn. to face the St. Cloud State University Huskies for the second time this season. In their last meeting, the Beavers grabbed a 78-74 victory in Bemidji on Dec. 19.
Bemidji State Notes
- The Beavers enter the day at 4-14 overall and 2-12 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference after dropping a pair of games to then No. 23 Southwest Minnesota State University and University of Sioux Falls this past weekend. BSU will look to get back into the win column as the team sits in a six-game losing stint that began with a 96-64 loss to then No. 11 Minnesota State University Mankato on Jan. 10 in Mankato, Minn.
- The Beavers and Huskies met earlier this season when BSU pulled away with a 78-74 win on Dec. 19 in Bemidji. SCSU leads the all-time series 49-20 with a 23-1 record when playing in St. Cloud.
- Tieryn Plasch remains as the top points earner for the Green and White, marking the team highs in points (176, 9.8 per game), field-goal shooting (.424 percent), three-point shooting (.434 percent) and minutes played (30.6 per game).
- Aubrey Heyer leads the team in rebounding with an average of 4.9 per game, totaling 89 this season with 16 offensive boards and 73 on defense.
- Following Tuesday's matchup, the Beavers return home to host University of Mary on Thursday evening at the BSU Gymnasium. Fans are encouraged to wear their best beachwear as the Beavers beat the cold and celebrate Beach Night. The best dressed fans will have the chance to win a prize at halftime.
St. Cloud State Notes
- The 10-9 Huskies enter the week on a three-game losing streak. Most recently, the Huskies fell to No. 23 Southwest Minnesota State after losses to Sioux Falls and then No. 10 Minnesota State. The team's most recent win happened on Jan. 17 when the Huskies defeated Winona State University 66-41 in Winona.
- Jada Eggebrecht remains in the top scoring spot for the Huskies with 250 points this season. Not far behind, Alana Zarneke takes the second spot with 226 points. Eggebrecht has made herself the top field-goal shooter while Zarneke is the top Husky at the three-point line.
- Zarneke also holds the top spot for rebounding, averaging 4.8 rebounds per game with Kylan Gerads right behind her with 4.7 per game.
- Following Tuesday's matchup, the Huskies head to Moorhead, Minn. on Saturday to take on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons then to Bismarck, N.D. Feb. 5 to play UMary.
