Beach night comes to the gym for Women’s Basketball Thursday

Beavers to host Marauders for Beach night Thursday

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Women's Basketball is set to host the University of Mary Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. for Beach Night. Fans are encouraged to wear their best beach attire for the chance to win a 43-inch smart TV from Midco!
 
Bemidji State Notes
  • The Beavers enter Thursday on a high note after defeating the St. Cloud State University Huskies, 59-58, on Tuesday. This win created the first season sweep over SCSU in program history, the Beavers grabbing the 2-0 advantage. 
  • BSU holds 14th place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, marking an overall record of 5-14 this season with a 3-12 record in the conference. The Beavers will hope to remain in the win column over the coming weeks as the season winds to a close. 
  • Tieryn Plasch remains in the top shooting and scoring spots for the Beavers. She has grabbed 191 points this season, averaging 10.1 per game. In field-goal territory, Plasch is shooting at .436 percent with .434 from the three-point line. 
  • Rachel Koenig leads the team from the free-throw line, shooting at .875 percent this season, missing just five shots on 40 attempts. 
  • Leading the Beavers in rebounding is freshman Aubrey Heyer with 5.2 per game. Heyer is just two rebounds shy of cracking the 100-rebound mark.
  • Following Thursday's game, the Beavers host the University of Minnesota Crookston for a pre-National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

  • The Marauders hold spot number six in the NSIC standings, sitting at a conference record on 7-7 with 10-8 overall. 
  • Last Saturday, UMary fell to now No. 19 Concordia University, St. Paul, 73-48. The night prior, the Marauders defeated the University of Minnesota Duluth, 71-59.
  • Bergan Kinnebrew leads the Marauders on the scoring front, grabbing 14.4 points per game with a total of 244 this season. She is also their top field-goal and free-throw shooter with shooting percentages of .384 and .857, respectively. 
  • At the arc, Emily Jaenke leads the team with 34 makes on 93 attempts, 36.6%. She averages 2.1 makes per game with an average of 5.8 attempts.
  • Following this matchup, the Marauders host Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
